Lady Jackets Drop Series Finale To Comets

RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team lost its conference series finale 3-0 with the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday afternoon.

Howard Payne had opportunities to score stranding multiple runners on base twice, seven total runners in the game. The Lady Jackets also out hit UT-Dallas 6-5.

UT-Dallas scored one run in the second and two in the sixth to round out the scoring in the game.

Celese Tirres (10-13) recorded the loss for Howard Payne allowing three runs on five hits. Tayler Rushing was 2-for-2 at the plate for the Lady Jackets.

Howard Payne is now 12-17 overall and 9-15 in American Southwest Conference play. UT-Dallas stands at 15-16 overall and 11-10 ASC action. The Lady Jackets will play next on April 8-9 in Jackson, Miss at Belhaven University.
