GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's team got a early second period goal from
Taylor Bicknell in a 3-1 non-conference lost to Southwestern University Sunday afternoon.
After Southwestern scored goals in the 20th and 38th minutes, Howard Payne's
Taylor Bicknell netted her second goal of the season to bring the Lady Jackets to with one. Bicknell's goal came in the 51st minute off a corner kick from
Miranda Rice.
The Lady Jackets held strong defensively despite being outshot 16-1 in the match. Southwestern also had seven corners to HPU's two.

Nicole Goodwin got the loss in the start for HPU allowing three goals and recording five saves in the complete match.
Howard Payne is now 2-2 overall and Southwestern stands at 2-2 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play next at home on Tuesday versus the University of Houston-Victoria. It will be a 1:00 pm start time at Citizens National Bank Field.
