BROWNWOOD, Texas- After dropping their last non-conference matchup vs. ETBU, the Jackets hoped to open up ASC play on the right foot. However, after giving up two goals in the 15th minute, HPU was unable to dig themselves out of the hole and fell 6-0 to UMHB. 

Howard Payne gave up one more goal in the 36th minute to fall behind 3-0 before the first half ended. In total, the Jackets saw 11 shots on goal and 22 shots overall while only managing three shots and one shot on the goal. 

In the second half, Mary Hardin-Baylor came right back out on the attack and put up three more goals in the 48th and 43rd minutes to go up 6-0. The Jackets started to put pressure on the Crusaders keeper late but failed to sneak anything past him. 

Howard Payne had seven corner kicks and Goalkeeper Nicholas Panameno managed to save five goals on the day. Josue Vasquez had one shot on goal while Reid Longabaugh and Tracer Moore each managed to get one shot during the match.
