Jackets Drop Conference Match to the Cru

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell 5-0 to conference opponent University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Field.

Howard Payne was outshot by Mary Hardin-Baylor 28-3 overall and 15-1 in shots on goal in the match. Lady Jacket goal keeper Nicole Goodwin recorded nine saves while allow five goals, two of which came on penalty kicks by UMHB in the second period.

Taylor Bicknell had two shots, one on goal for HPU with Lynsie Anderson taking the Lady Jackets only other attempt.

UMHB led 2-0 at the break with a goals in the 2nd (Graham) and 13th (Graham) minutes of the match. UMHB's only regular goal in the second came in the 62nd minute with the other two coming on penalty kicks in the 48th (Parker) and 76th (Burgett) minutes.

Howard Payne is now 2-5-0 overall and 0-2-0 in American Southwest Conference action. UMHB stands at 5-2-1 overall and 2-0-0 in league play.
