COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Howard Payne University volleyball team defeated Johnson and Wales - Denver 3-0 on the opening day on the Colorado College Spike It Up Classic.
Defeating the Wildcats in three games straight (25-20,27-25,25-18), the Lady Jackets hit .280 as a team and recorded seven service aces on the night.
Zhartezia Bradley led all attackers with 13 kills adding three blocks and three digs.
Kailey Doering followed with eight kills.
Cheyanne Lovelady had a match high 38 assists with six kills.
Jordan Livingston added 20 digs to her season totals.
The Lady Jackets are now 9-18 overall and Johnson and Wales stands at 2-21 on the year. The Lady Jackets will take on Cornell College and tournament host Colorado College on day two of the classic.
