AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team fell 3-1 to Concordia University Texas Friday evening in conference action.
After taking the first set 25-18, Howard Payne dropped the last three sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-18) to lose the match 3-1 to Concordia Texas.
The Lady Jackets'
Kailey Doering led in the first set with a .500 attack pct. while the team forced Concordia into a negative hitting percentage in the set.
Despite the Lady Jackets attack percentage improving in the second and third sets, Concordia gained the advantage in each set.
Zhartezia Bradley led HPU with 12 kills. Kailey Doering led with three blocks. Cheyanne Lovelady had 32 assists and
Jordan Livingston ended with 20 digs.
Howard Payne is now 7-12 overall and 5-5 in American Southwest Conference action. Concordia stands at 9-7 overall and 6-2 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Saturday at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. It will be a 2:00 pm start time.
