Belton, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team fell in three sets vs. the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday afternoon, 14-25, 12-25, 15-25. The Lady Jackets (7-13, 5-6 ASC) recorded more digs, 51, and more blocks, six than the Cru (17-2, 9-1 ASC) but were outscored 51-29, en route to the Cru's ninth win in the past ten games.
Zhartaezia Bradley led the Lady Jackets in kills with eight and blocks with four, and she also added one service ace in the loss.
Jordan Livingston tied for a game-high 12 digs, and
Cheyanne Lovelady had 16 assists to lead Howard Payne.
McKenna Walker added ten digs and an assist while freshman
Madeleine Kelly registered a career-high three blocks.
Howard Payne will now return home before heading to Abilene to participate in the ASC Dig Pink Crossover Challenge II. They will face UT-Dallas, Belhaven, and East Texas Baptist University during the two-day event.
