Daniel Lemus scored his fifth and sixth goals and his fourth game winner of the season in the Yellow Jackets 2-1 conference victory over the Concordia Tornados.Â
Daniel Lemus netted his first of two goals in the 10th minute off a
Dylan Person throw into the box.
After a Concordia score at the 31 minute mark, Lemus scored the game winner in the second period off a
Tracer Moore assist. Lemus' goal was in the 60th minute and the Jackets defense would hold firm to claim the 2-1 conference win.
Despite being outshot 18-9 overall and 9-2 in shots on goal, the Jackets would only need the two on goal shots to secure the 2-1 victory.
Tracer Moore and Daniel Lemus each had three shots with
Reid Longabaugh adding two more.
Nicholas Panameno played all 90 minutes in goal allowing just the one score and recording six saves.
Howard Payne is now 5-5-0 overall and 3-4-0 in American Southwest Conference play. Concordia stands at 8-3-1 overall and 4-3-1 in league action. The Jackets will play next at home on Thursday, Oct. 12th versus McMurry University at 3:30 pm.
