ABILENE, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 112-62 to NCAA Division I Abilene Christian University Thursday evening at Moody Coliseum.

Khyce Randall led all scorers with 22 points along with five rebounds and two assists. HPU's
De'Marcus Hurd was the second leading scorer in the game with 18 points.
The Yellow Jackets started the game strong connecting on the first three three-pointers taken. With the Jackets leading 22-17 with 10:29 left in the first half, ACU went on a 45-8 run to close out the half.
The Wildcats started the second half with a 14-2 run and closed out to the 112-62 final.
Shadd Cole led the Jackets on the boards with five. Randall was 12 of 14 from the free-throw line for Howard Payne.
On the night, Howard Payne was 16 of 51 (31.4) from the field, 6 of 29 (20.7) from behind the arc and 24 of 30 (80.0) from the free-throw line.
ACU was led by Jaren Lewis with 15 points and eight rebounds. Seven other Wildcat players scored in double digits.
The Yellow Jackets will travel to Stephen F. Austin State University on Saturday for a 4:00 pm tip-off.
