GEORGETOWN, Texas - Anastasia Willis scored a career high 19 points with 12 rebounds in a Howard Payne University 73-68 victory over Texas Lutheran University Saturday afternoon at Southwestern University.

Howard Payne recorded an amazing 35 offensive rebounds in the win out rebounding Texas Lutheran 55-31 overall. Anastasia Willis accounted for 11 of the Lady Jacket offensive boards. 

Texas Lutheran led 43-35 at the half but Howard Payne rallied in the third quarter to take the 56-53 lead ending the quarter with a 14-0 run. After being outscored in the first two quarters, the Lady Jackets outscored the Pirates 38- 25 in the second half to claim the 73-68 win.

Anastasia Willis led HPU with 19 points and 12 rebounds (11 offensive), she was 7 of 18 from the field and 5 of 6 from the line. Valarie Matlock followed with 13 points, six assists and three steals. Presley McKethan and Dominique Featherstone each had 11 points. Featherstone ended with a double-double adding 11 rebounds. 

Tara Molina led Texas Lutheran with a game high 21 points followed by Cami Davis with 15 and Presley Stephens with 10.

Howard Payne is now 2-2 overall and Texas Lutheran stands at 1-3 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play next on Sunday at 4:00 pm versus Southwestern University. The Lady Jackets will then travel to the University of Texas at Dallas on Thursday for both team's conference opener at 5:30 pm.
