ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball team dropped an 88-46 decision at Abilene Christian University Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
Abilene Christian used a big second half push to pull away from Howard Payne to the 88-46 final. HPU was out rebounded 49-33 by Abilene Christian while committing 25 turnovers to ACU's 17.
Valarie Matlock led HPU with nine points and three assists. Dominigue Featherstone and
Kristin Cunningham each finished with seven points. Anastasia Wiliis added eight rebounds.
ACU was led by Sara Williamson with 25 points and nine rebounds. Dominique Golightly followed with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Jackets are now 3-5 overall on the year and ACU stands at 4-3 on the season. Howard Payne will play next at home versus LeTourneau University in conference action starting at 5:30 pm.
