ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team fell 8-1 at Hardin-Simmons University Saturday afternoon.
Alex Marlin picks up number one single win.
All three doubles matches were competitive to start the day. HPU dropped the number one doubles 8-3 and the number three 8-4. It was the HPU number two doubles team of Brittony Walker and
Erin McCleer that took HSU's Jasmine Briant and Abigail Kendall to a 8-6 decision.
Alex Marlin defeated HSU's Hannah Smith 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) in number one singles play to give Howard Payne its only point of the match.
Callie Molloy also played extremely well narrowly falling in number six singles 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) to Kelsey Doege of HSU.

The Lady Jackets will play next on Feb 24th at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. After four additional road matches, HPU will play at home on Mar 23rd versus Friends University.
