BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's soccer team got all the points it needed in the first period in a 2-0 conference victory over Louisiana College Thursday afternoon.

Kacie Masters assist to
Rachel Crane in the first period gave the Lady Jackets a 2-0 advantage at the break. It was a
Rachel Crane shot that a LC defender kicked into the LC goal in the 3rd minute of the match and then in the 13th minute Masters would assist on the
Rachel Crane score (4th of the year).
Howard Payne outshot Louisiana College 13-10 in the match but the teams tied 5-5 in shots on goal. HPU did take five corner kicks to LC's zero.
Dayanne Gutierrez led HPU in shots with five, one on goal. Crane added two shots.
Nicole Goodwin recorded the victory in goal playing all 90 minutes in the shutout. Goodwin had recorded five saves.
Howard Payne is now 3-2-1 overall and 2-1-0 in American Southwest Conference action. Louisiana College falls to 0-4-2 overall and 0-2-0 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Saturday at 2:00 pm versus Belhaven University at Citizens National Bank Field.
