RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's soccer team fell 3-0 to the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday evening in conference play.
Joshua Rodriguez and
Tracer Moore would give the Jackets opportunities to score in the second but after being outshot 13-5 overall, 6-2 in shots on goal HPU would fall 3-0 to UT Dallas.
Scoring goal in the 15th and 31st minutes, UT Dallas would hold a 2-0 advantage at the break. The Comets would add another score in the 58th minute to round out the scoring.
Joshua Rodriguez and
Tracer Moore each had a shot on goal for Howard Payne. Daniel Lemus led HPU with two shots.
Andrew Hackney played all 90 minutes in goal for the Jackets allowing the three goals and recording two saves.
Howard Payne is now 4-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in American Southwest Conference action. UT Dallas stands at 6-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 in league play. The Jackets will play next on Oct. 5th versus Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas at 7:30 pm.
