ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team dropped a conference match 3-0 at McMurry University Saturday afternoon.
Despite the three set loss, the Lady Jackets were competitive in all three sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-22). Howard Payne led 22-21 in the third set but McMurry scored four straight to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
Zhartezia Bradley led with 11 kills followed by
Jordan Rogers with 9 kills.
McKenna Walker,
Jordan Rogers and Zhartezia Bradley each had two blocks and
Cheyanne Lovelady ended with 27 assists.
Jordan Livingston finished with 22 digs.
Howard Payne is now 6-11 overall and 4-4 in American Southwest Conference action. McMurry stands at 11-6 overall and 4-4 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Oct. 3rd versus Sul Ross State in Alpine, Texas at 5:00 pm.
