RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to conference opponent University of Texas at Dallas Saturday evening.

Howard Payne allowed two UT Dallas goals in the opening minutes of the match. UT Dallas scored in the 10th and 13th minutes of the first period but the Howard Payne defense buckled down to keep the Comets scoreless from that point.

UT Dallas recorded 48 total shots to just six for Howard Payne. UTD led 15-1 in shots on goal.

Nicole Goodwin played all 90 minutes in goal for Howard Payne recording 13 saves and allowing the two goals.

Lesly Garcia had three shots for HPU. Kaitlyn Harrison, Jada Austin and Rachel Crane each added one shot, Austin's was on goal.

Howard Payne is now 4-3-1 overall and 3-2 in American Southwest Conference action. UT Dallas stands at 9-1 overall and 5-0 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Oct. 5th versus Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas at 5:00 pm.
