BROWNWOOD, Texas- Howard Payne University's men's soccer team played a very physical game today against Concordia University ending with a loss of 0-4 at Citizens National Bank Field Saturday afternoon.

Spencer Lyon once again led Howard Payne with two shots both on goal inr the game. However, HPU trailed behind Concordia in statistically with total shots 16-7 (7-4 shots on goal) and corner kicks 5-4.
Concordia was able to score their first goal in the first nine minutes with a shot from deep center, finding the net right over the goalkeeper's head. HPU was able to hold the Tornados until the 35th minute mark, ending the half 2-0 CTX.
HPU was able to defer the Tornados in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Concordia receiving their third goal of the game in the 50th minute mark, with a rebound ball shot reaching into the net. The Yellow Jackets allowing the Tornados to score one more time before the end of the game, leaving the score at 0-4.
Howard Payne is now 3-5-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the American Southwest Conference play, while Concordia is now 6-2-1 overall. The Yellow Jackets will play at home this Saturday, October 6th at 3:30 P.M. against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at Citizens National Bank Field.Â
