DALLAS, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 95-60 to D-II #21 Dallas Baptist University Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

Howard Payne struggled from the field connecting on just 38.2% on its shots and 18.8% on shots from behind the arc. Dallas Baptist shot well on the night hitting 56.1% of its shots and 54.2% from three-point range.

DBU opened up a big lead to start the game forcing early turnovers. The Patriots went on to force 19 Yellow Jacket turnovers in the game converting those to 23 points. The Jackets did force 13 DBU turnovers but only would only lead to five points in the game.

On the night, Dallas Baptist would hold a slight rebounding edge 32-30. 

Shadd Cole led HPU with 14 points along with four rebounds and three assists. Thomas Bingham followed with 11 points and two blocks. Javaris Jones and Joshua Taylor each added nine points and Timothy Aguero led the Jackets with six rebounds.

DBU was led by Carson Hughes with 33 points, Chandler Jacobs had 13, JT Harris and Jalen White each finished with 11 points.

The Jackets Will play next on Saturday, Nov. 17th at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. It will be a 4:00 pm start time.
