ALPINE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team posts its third straight victory in a 7-2 conference win over Sul Ross State University Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets started the match by winning all three doubles points 8-3, 8-0 and 8-0.

Howard Payne would only drop the number one and two singles points on the day. Erin McCleer's number two singles match went to three sets falling 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.

The Lady Jackets claimed the remaining singles points in straight sets.

Howard Payne finishes the regular season at 6-13 overall and 3-2 in ASC West Division action. Sul Ross stands at 4-12 overall and 1-4 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next at the American Southwest Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tournament on April 26-28. It will be HPU's second consecutive appearance in the tournament and its third in the past five seasons.
