BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team dropped their ASC West Division opener 9-0 to McMurry University Friday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

The Yellow Jackets fell 8-2, 8-2, and 8-0 in doubles play to start the match. 

Howard Payne would drop all of the singles points in straight sets. Andrew Stevenson played the best falling 6-2. 6-3 in number four singles play.

Howard Payne is now 1-15 overall and 0-1 ASC action. McMurry University stands at 6-8 on the year and 1-1 ASC play. Howard Payne will play Hardin-Simmons at home on Saturday starting at 4:00 pm.
