BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 conference team match to Hardin-Simmons University Saturday evening at the Nabers Tennis Center.
Despite the score, the match came down to the wire with three tie breaks and three third set matches in singles play.
Even though Howard Payne would only pick up one singles point in the match all the rest would be highly contested.Â
Rosie Cadena won 6-2, 0-6, 10-8 in number five singles play.
Breanna Hunt would fall 3-6, 6-0, 10-4 in number four singles and
Cheyanne Lovelady also dropped a three set heartbreaker 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in number six singles.
All three doubles matches were down to the wire to start the day.
Breanna Hunt and
Erin McCleer won 8-6 in number two doubles and the number one double team fell 9-7 and number two doubles 8-5.
Howard Payne is now 3-13 overall and 0-2 in conference play. Hardin-Simmons stands at 1-13 overall and 1-0 in league action. Howard Payne will play next on April 13th in Belton, Texas versus Mary Hardin-Baylor.
