ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team competed at the American Southwest Conference Ind/Doubles Championships hosted by McMurry University.

On the singles side, Erin McCleer competed in the "A" flight, Erin Blanchard in the "B" flight, Rosie Cadena "C" flight, Brynna Taylor in the "D" flight and Kendra Renfroe in the "E" flight.

After losing her first match, Erin Blanchard was able to defeat Sabra Zullo of Hardin-Simmons in the flight "B" consolation bracket (6-3, 6-1) and then beat Kate De Santos (6-1, 6-2) to win the flight "B" consolation bracket.

On the doubles side, Blanchard and Taylor competed in the "A" flight and Mcleer and Renfroe competed in the "B" flight.

The Lady Jackets will be in action on September 21-23 at the ITA Regionals in San Antonio, Texas hosted by Trinity University.
