BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell to conference opponent Hardin-Simmons University 95-69 Thursday evening at the Mabee Athletic Complex
Hardin-Simmons made 13 of 24 shots from behind the arc and forced 16 Howard Payne turnovers in the game.
The Yellow Jackets played solid to open the game but found themselves trailing 36-33 at the half. Hardin-Simmons would outscore Howard Payne by 23 points in the second half to claim the game 95-69.
Howard Payne was led by
Shadd Cole with 18 points followed by
Timothy Aguero with 15 points and seven assists.
Thomas Bingham added 10 points.
Steven Quinn led Hardin-Simmons with 29 points and eight rebounds followed by Joe Hoeup with 22 points.
Howard Payne is now 1-7 in American Southwest Conference action and 3-14 overall. Hardin-Simmons stands at 5-4 in league play and 10-8 overall. The Jackets will be in action this Saturday at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas at 3:00 pm.
