Brownwood, Texas - The Howard Payne Volleyball Club dropped an American Southwest Conference match to the Tornadoes of Concordia in straight sets.
After an entertaining first set that ended in a close notched 25-19, where HPU actually scored 7 straight points to pull within 3, the Tornadoes ran away with set two 25-7. The Lady Jackets hit quick and often to start off set three gaining the lead three separate times, but the set ended 25-16 and 3 set to 0 in the match.
Mya Ross led the Lady Jackets with 5 kills and 3 aces. Ciara Chappel added 3 blocks while Kaitlyn Eisten and Kennedy Sam tallied 6 assists apiece. Kylee Shirley led in digs again with 12.
The Lady Jackets fall to 2-18 on the season, 0-10 in ASC play. They will be on the road this weekend in a non-conference rematch with the Mountaineers of Schriner University. The first serve will be on Saturday at 2:00pm.Â
