Lady Jackets Lose OT Battle At UMHB

BELTON, Texas- Howard Payne University's Delaney Castor records 18 saves in a 1-0 double overtime loss for the Lady Jackets at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday evening.

Howard Payne goalkeeper Delaney Castor played the full 105 minutes in the goal, recording a career high of 18 saves in the match. Castor was just one save shy of tying the HPU record for saves in a game (19 by Heather Parish in 2006).

UMHB would score golden goal in the 105 minute of overtime, ending the match 1-0.

HPU fell behind 32-1 in total shots and 20-1 in shots on goals through the match. Lady Jacket Kara Moore was able to get off HPU's only shot on goal aimed at the center of the goal in the 94th minute of overtime.

Howard Payne is now 5-7-1 overall and 1-4-0 in American Southwest Conference play, while the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is now 6-5-1 overall and 4-1-0 in conference action. The Lady Jackets will hit the road on Saturday Oct, 12th to take on Concordia University Texas in a 1:00 pm match played in Austin.
