Kara Moore and great keeper work by
Delaney Castor,.the Howard Payne University women's soccer team earned a 3-2 conference victory over Concordia University Texas earlier this afternoon.
Freshman
Kara Moore earned her first hat trick as a Lady Jacket scoring all three goals for HPU. Moore scored the game winning goal off of a goal kick from keeper
Delaney Castor in the 60th minute.
The Lady Jackets were the first on the board, with Moore finding the back of the net in the 11th minute of the match with an assist from teammate
Heaven Rossette. Moore recorded her second goal of the game in the 29th minute.
Lady Jacket sophomore goal keeper Castor played all 90 minutes of the match, recording 10 saves, two saves coming from penalty kicks.Â
HPU fell behind 21-12 in shots 12-6 in shots on goals. Moore led the team in with five shots and four on goal.
Emily Munoz and
Ajacia Mojica each added a shot on goal.
Howard Payne is now 6-7-1 overall and 2-4-0 in American Southwest Conference play, while Concordia is now 3-10-0 overall and 3-4-0 in conference play. The Lady Jackets will a 1:00 pm game against the Hardin-Simmons University on Thursday Oct. 17th at Citizens National Bank Field.
