MARSHALL, Texas- The Howard Payne University men's soccer team fell 3-2 in a loss to East Texas Baptist University earlier this afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets took the 2-1 lead in the first half with both goals scored by freshman Alexander Paz in the 14th and 40th minutes. Paz with now a team high six goals on the season.

Howard Payne was outshot 24-7 in shots and 16-3 in shots on goal. Paz lead the team with four shots and two shots on goals, recording his third goal of the season.

East Texas Baptist was able to score two goals in the second half of the match making the final score 3-2.

HPU goalie Andrew Hackney played the full 90 minutes of the match, recording 11 saves for the Yellow Jacket.

Howard Payne is now 4-13 overall and 2-8 in American Southwest Conference play, while East Texas Baptist is now 5-10 overall and 4-5 in conference action. The Yellow Jackets will head to Alpine on Friday, Nov 1st  to play in a 3:30 pm match against Sul Ross State University.
