PINEVILLE, LA – I*n a lightning delayed match on the road, the Howard Payne University men's soccer team fell to Louisiana College 2-1 in a conference match earlier this afternoon.
After a 0-0 tie at the half, Louisiana College Wildcats were able to score the first goal of the match in the first minutes of the second period..

Erick Marcia was able to find the back of the goal in the 62th minute of the game, his first collegiate goal, making the match tied at 1-1.
HPU led 16-15 in total shots, but fell behind in shots on goals 8-6, ending the match 2-1.

Matt Prall played all 90 minutes in the goal for HPU, recording six saves.
Howard Payne is now 5-9 overall and 4-7 in American Southwest Conference play, while Louisiana College is now 1-8 overall and 1-3 in conference action. The Yellow Jackets will hit the road again Thursday, Oct 10th for a 7:30 pm match against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
