ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team posted a 105-36 exhibition loss to NCAA D-I Abilene Christian University Thursday evening at Moody Coliseum.
After shooting 44% from the field in the first half, Howard Payne would struggle offensively in the second scoring just nine points while Abilene Christian posted a 59 point second half.
The game remained close early with the Yellow Jackets holding a 14-9 advantage five minutes into the game. ACU rallied from that point to hold a 46-27 halftime lead.
Howard Payne was led by
Luke Cox with nine points followed by
Jase Miguez with eight points.
Talen Davis led the Jackets in rebounding with six.
Airion Simmons led ACU with 15 points followed by Paylen Ricks with 14 points.
Howard Payne will play next on Saturday, Dec. 14th at Dallas Baptist University starting at 2:00 pm.
