Lily Janek had her best outing of the season in an 88-57 loss to the University of Puget Sound Loggers on day one of Howard Payne's California trip
Lily Janek scored a game high 16 points along with recording a career high five steals versus Puget Sound.
Puget Sound jumped out early and gained a lead that they would not relinquish eventually out rebounding Howard Payne 74-33 in the game. It was 33 offensive rebounds by the Loggers that was a huge factor in the game.
Janek was great for the Lady Jackets going 6 of 12 from the field, 3 of 5 from behind the arc. Along with her career high five steals, she would not commit a single turnover in the game.
Bria Neal and
Chelsey Harris each added 10 points.
Anastasia Willis grabbed seven rebounds and
Delaney Ingram recorded three block shots.
Puget Sound was led by Grace Pytynia-Hillie with 16 points and Jaime Lange with 17 rebounds.
Howard Payne stands at 3-4 overall and Puget Sound improves to 3-2 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play next on Sunday there in Santa Cruz versus host UC-Santa Cruz. It will be a 5:00 pm central tip off.
