BROWNWOOD- The Howard Payne University softball team were able to keep the #6 ranked East Texas Baptist Tigers at bay earlier this afternoon losing the conference game 4-0.

Tia Campos started in the circle for Howard Payne, pitching the first two innings, recording two strikeouts allowing two runs in the top of the second.
Both teams committed zero errors in the game, with HPU felling behind 7-3 in total hits. HPU's

Emily Martinez each recorded a hit for the Lady Jackets.
Hannah Stuart came in to pitch for
Tia Campos in the top of the third inning, allowing one run and recording two strikeouts.
Gabrielle Roque relieved
Hannah Stuart in the top of the fifth inning holding the Tigers.
Tia Campos came back into the circle in the last inning, recording the 4-0 loss.
Howard Payne is now 6-7 overall and 3-4 in American Southwest Conference play, while the ETBU is 17-0 overall and 10-0 overall. The Lady Jackets will continue their home weekend series against ETBU tomorrow, Saturday March 3rd at 12 PM and 2 PM.
