ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team fell 8-1 to conference opponent McMurry University Friday afternoon on the road.

HPU's Rodolfo Perez and Tevin Stevens played solid in number two doubles falling 8-3. Dropping the number one double match 8-0, Howard Payne would drop the number three doubles and the number six singles points by forfeit to start the match due to being down one player.

Dominic Denardo picked up the only point for HPU winning 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 in number one singles action. All other Jackets would lose in straight sets in singles play.

The Yellow Jackets will continue their road trip on Saturday in Abilene taking on Hardin-Simmons at 10:00 am.
