Seguin, Texas – The Lady Jackets just couldn't handle a duo of Bulldogs on day one, first dropping all three sets to TLU, then losing a 3-2 heart breaker against Jarvis Christian College. They then split day two dropping three sets to Schreiner University but winning in three against St. Joseph's College (NY).

TLU took care of business against the Lady Jackets as they swept in three sets 25-8, 25-12 and 25-11.

In the second match up the day Jarvis took the first set, a back and forth battle, 25-21. HPU then would answer in the 2^nd winning 25-20 but losing the 3^rd set 25-22. The Lady Jackets would force set 5 after a dominate 4^th set only to drop the 5^th 15-11.

Freshman Shaylyn Wise led all Jackets with 16 kills followed by Mya Ross's 10. Kaitlyn Elsten turned in 15 assists and Sam Kennedy added 12 of her own. Logan Boyd also made 8 digs.

In the first match of day two, the Mountaineers of Schreiner took the match 25-21, 25-14 and 25-15.

Mya Ross and Mitsue Rodriguez both had 5 kills, Ciara Chappel added 3 blocks, Logan Boyd led with 9 assists and Mya Ross added 9 digs.

In the final match of the TLU Tournament, the Lady Jackets grabbed a win over the Eagles of St. Joseph's College of Long Island. The Lady Jackets were consistent with a three set win where they dominated 25-19 in all three.

Mya Ross filled the stat sheet again leading in kills with 12, Canyon Hughes added 4 blocks while Ciara Chappel had 3 of her own. Kaitlyn Elsten led in assists with 14 while Logan Boyd had 11.

The Lady Jackets finish the weekend 1-3 in preparation for the Austin College Tournament next weekend. The bracket has not been released yet, but they will be in Sherman on Saturday, Sept. 7^th.
