BROWNWOOD- The Howard Payne University woman's soccer team fell to the University of Texas at Dallas Comets 3-1 earlier to open conference play.
Howard Payne's defense held the UTD Comets till the 10th minute of the first half. But just a minute later, HPU freshman
Kara Moore scored her second career goal in the 11th minute of the match, leading to a 1-1 halftime score.
The Lady Jackets fell behind in shots 20-4 and 11-2 in shots on goals, leading to two second period goals for UTD in the 54th and 58th minutes.
Despite the loss,
Delaney Castor was great in goal for the Lady Jackets recording eight saves in 90 minutes of action.Â
Howard Payne is now 4-4-1 overall and 0-1 in American Southwest Conference play, while the University of Texas at Dallas is now 8-0 in the year and 1-0 in conference play. The Lady Jackets will play at home on Saturday Sep 28th in a 2:00 pm match against the University of the Ozarks played at Citizens National Bank Field.
