BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University woman's soccer team fell to the University of the Ozarks 1-0 earlier this afternoon in their second conference game of the season.
Howard Payne's defense held the Ozarks throughout the first half of the game. HPU led the half ahead in shots 10-5 with a 0-0 score.
The Ozarks were able to score the first and only goal of the game in the 60th minute of the half, ending the game 0-1.
The Lady Jackets fell behind in total shots 14-12 and 10-5 in shots on goal.
Despite the loss,
Delaney Castor played a great game in goal for the Lady Jackets recording nine saves in 90 minutes of action.Â
Howard Payne is now 4-5-1 overall and 0-2 in American Southwest Conference play, while the University of the Ozarks is now 5-1-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Â The Lady Jackets will hit the road Thursday Oct, 3rd to play Belhaven University at 5:00 pm in Jackson, Mississippi.
