Sherman, Texas – The Lady Jackets dropped two non-conference matches to Paul Quinn and Austin College on Saturday losing both games in three straight sets.
The Lady Jackets fought hard against Paul Quinn going deep into the first set to come up empty 27-25. The next two sets were back and forth for most of the match, but the Lady Jackets fell 25-18 and 25-16.
Mya Ross led this match with 10 kills followed by Canyon Hughes's 6. Logan Boyd turned in 15 assists to go along with Kylee Shirley's 15 digs.
In the second match of the day, the Roos of Austin College took three sets from the Lady Jackets 25-12, 25-13 and 25-14. Teresa Hopkins led the Lady Jackets with 6 kills followed by Mya Ross's 4. Logan Boyd added 8 assists and Elizabeth Benn and Kennedy Sam both turned in double digit digs with 13 and 10.
The Lady Jackets drop to 1-5 early in the season. They will be hosting the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor on Tuesday night, Sep. 10th. That match is scheduled to begin in the Brownwood Coliseum at 6:00 pm.
