Brownwood, Texas – The Lady Jackets dropped their first conference match of the season to the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in three straight sets.

The Lady Jackets just couldn't find their rhythm as the Cru handled the young Jacket squad by scores of 25-8, 25-8 and 25-14. HPU started to come together as they took a 3-1 lead early in the final set, but the Cru took back over and put the match away. 

Ciara Chappel and Mitsue Rodriguez led the Lady Jackets with 4 kills apiece. Kennedy Sam notched 8 assists to lead both teams and Mya Ross led the Lady Jackets in digs with 6.

The Lady Jackets drop to 1-6 on the season. They will be on the road in Conway, Arkansas this weekend where a rematch with TLU looms. They will also take on Hendrix College the same day and Johnson and Wales on Sunday. First serve for the TLU match is scheduled for 11:00 am.
