MARSHALL, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team got a game high 22 points fromm Jase Miguez but fell 104-79 at East Texas Baptist University Thursday evening in conference action.

Jase Miguez was 10 of 17 from the field, 2 of 3 from behind the arc in the game for the Yellow Jackets. Colton Otts scored a season high 11 points on 4 of 5 shooting off the bench for the Jackets.

With the game tied at 11-11, ETBU jumped out to a lead and went on to lead 50-26 at the half.

Howard Payne upped its offensive game in the second half scoring 53 points and 55% shooting from the field. ETBU matched the Jackets scoring and held on for the 104-79 final.

ETBU was led by Ahmad Caldwell with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Howard Payne is now 1-14 overall and 0-6 in American Southwest Conference play. ETBU stands at 12-2 overall and 5-0 in league action. The Jackets will play next on Saturday at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas at 3:00 pm.
