Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball team defeated American Southwest Conference opponent Louisiana College in overtime 102-96 Saturday afternoon in the Brownwood Coliseum.

Howard Payne outscored Louisiana College 24-15 in the overtime period to claim the 102-96 victory after trailing by as much as 12 points in the third quarter.

Down 46-34 in the third, the Lady Jackets went on a 13-0 run and headed into the fourth quarter tied at 56-56.

HPU went 3 of 3 from the three-point line and 11 of 14 at the free-throw line in overtime to take the conference game 102-96.

HPU's Chelsey Harris led all scorers with 27 points sparked by 6 of 10 shooting from behind the arc. Mallory Garcia had her best game as a Lady Jacket with 23 points connecting on six three's. Anastasia Willis had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Salina Ali had 10 points and a game high seven assists with four steals. Bria Neal added nine points and a game high 12 rebounds.

Louisiana College was led by ZyUnn Cormier with 26 points followed by Maya Washington and Alex Harrison with 23 and 22 points respectively.

Howard Payne is now 6-6 overall and 2-1 in American Southwest Conference. LC stands at 2-8 overall and 0-2 in league play. The Lady Jackets will be on the road next week at McMurry University on Thursday at 5:30 pm and Saturday at Hardin-Simmons University at 1:00 pm.
