BELTON, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball team fell 112-70 to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday afternoon in conference play.
Howard Payne was led by
Bria Neal with 15 points followed by
Lily Janek with 12 points and
Julissa Ibarra with 10 points.
Anastasia Willis pulled down a game high 14 rebounds with three steals.
Mary Hardin-Baylor hit 14 three-pointers and out rebounded Howard Payne 55-41 in the ballgame while limiting the Lady Jackets to 27.4% shooting in the game.
Howard Payne was able to create some offense at the free-throw line hitting 25 of 29 for 86.2% in the game.
UMHBÂ opened the game posting a 33 point first quarter and held a 59-39 halftime advantage. The Cru added 31 points to their total in the third on the way to the 112-70 final.
UMHB was led by Hannah Holt with 28 points followed by Kendall Rollins with 26 points.
Howard Payne is now 8-13 overall and 4-8 in American Southwest Conference action. UMHBÂ stands at 17-4 overall and 10-2 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next at home on Feb. 13th versus McMurry University at 5:30 pm.
