Box Score SEGUIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team fell 8-1 at Texas Lutheran University Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

In a match that was much closer than the overall score indicated, every matchup on the day was competitive.

Howard Payne narrowly dropped the number one and two doubles points to start the day. 

Ben Blanchard and Jonathan Villareal fell 8-5 in number one doubles and playing number two doubles Dominic DeNardo and Albert Hernandez went to the wire losing 8-7(7-5).

Albert Hernandez picked up the only singles point for HPU winning 6-3, 7-6(9-7) in number four singles action.

The Yellow Jackets are now 3-6 overall and Texas Lutheran stands at 3-8 on the year. HPU will play two matches in San Antonio on Sunday versus St. Mary's and Our Lady of the Lake University.
