HELOTES, TEXAS – The Howard Payne University men's tennis team went 0-2 on the road with a 0-7 loss against D-I UT Rio Grande Valley and 0-7 against Our Lady of the Lake University.
 
UT Rio Grande Valley Match
Dominic DeNardo and Landon Fereer lost 4-6 in number three doubles. Another close match was 
Alexander Shelton and 
Dakota Anderson in number two doubles falling 2-6.
 
Hunter Green fell to Te Kani Williams in number four singles 0-6, 1-6. HPU's Landon Fereer also snagged a game off of opponent Mateo Schmit in number five singles, losing 1-6, 0-6.
 
Our Lady of the Lake Match
Ashton Stevens and 
Dominic DeNardo fought hard in the number three doubles match, losing 3-6.
 
Landon Ferree played a tough match in number five singles, losing 6-7(6-8), 1-6 against Michael Canales of OLLU. HPU's 
Dakota Anderson also had a close match against Sebastian Rodriguez in number six singles, losing 5-7, 1-6.
 
After a very tough four matches to start the season, the Yellow Jackets are now 0-4 on the year and will play next on February 5th at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm in Kerrville, Texas versus Dallas Baptist University and Schreiner University.
