Kerrville, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's tennis team went 0-3 over the weekend on the road with a 0-9 loss against Dallas Baptist University, a 0-9 loss against Schreiner University, and a 0-9 loss against St. Mary's University.
DBU Match
On Friday, the Yellow Jackets took on Dallas Baptist University falling 0-9.
Dominic DeNardo and
Landon Ferree lost 3-8 in number three doubles.
Ashton Stevens and
Alexander Shelton also fought hard in number two doubles, losing 1-8.
Alexander Shelton played in a close singles match in the number four spot, losing to Roman Hill 3-6. 6-7(6-0). Another close match was
Ashton Stevens in number three singles, falling 2-6, 1-6 to Kash Adams.
Schreiner Match
On Friday, the Yellow Jackets took on Schreiner University falling 0-9.
Micah Hunter and
Hunter Green fought hard in number one doubles, falling short to Dennis Miller and Mario Gallinar 4-8. Another close match was number three doubles
Dominic DeNardo and
Landon Ferree, falling 4-8.
Dominic DeNardo lost 6-2, 3-6(0-1) in number two singles.
Ashton Stevens lost 1-6, 5-7 in number three singles.
St Mary's Match
On Saturday, the Yellow Jackets took on St Mary's University falling 0-9.
Dominic DeNardo and
Landon Ferree fell short 4-8 in number three doubles to opponents Brendan Brown and S. Konakanchi.
Landon Ferree battled back in number six singles, falling short 0-6, 4-6.
Dominic DeNardo also lost to Ryan Koth in number two singles 2-6, 0-6.
The Yellow Jackets are now 0-7 on the year and will play next on February 12th at 2:00 pm in Brownwood, Texas versus University of the Southwest (N.M.).
