ABILENE, Texas- The Howard Payne University Women's Soccer team suffered their second conference loss of the season to McMurry University 4-0 Thursday evening at Wilford Moore Stadium.

Going into today's match, Howard Payne was ranked fifth in the American Southwest Conference standings right behind McMurry who sat in fourth place.

The War Hawks scored in the 19th minute of the match and again in the 42nd minute to put the Lady Jackets down 2-0 at the halfway mark.

The Lady Jackets gave up two more goals in the second period and were unable to put any points on the board, dropping the road match 4-0.

Kate Recendez, Katie Burnside, and Addison Buesing recorded shots on goal for HPU.

Goalkeeper Delaney Castor played 80 minutes for the Lady Jackets, allowed four goals, and recorded one save. Emily Williamson stepped in to relieve Castor for the remaining 10 minutes. 

Howard Payne falls to are 8-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the American Southwest Conference. McMurry improves to 9-2-2 overall and 4-0-2 in conference play.

The Lady Jackets will play Hardin-Simmons on Saturday Oct. 16th in Abilene, Texas at 5:00 PM.
