SHERMAN, Texas- The Howard Payne University men's basketball team lost to non-conference opponent, Austin College 95-71 this afternoon.

Jaylan Ballou led the Yellow Jackets with 19 points, four assists, four steals, and two blocks.

Howard Payne fell behind early and trailed 48-27 at halftime.

The Yellow Jackets cut the 'Roos lead to 16 with just over 12 minutes remaining but could not overcome the deficit, dropping the road game 95-71.

Following Ballou's 19 points was Fredrick Watts with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

After today's loss HPU falls to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in American Southwest Conference action. AC improves to 2-4 overall.

Howard Payne will play Belhaven on Thursday Dec. 16th at 7:30 PM in Jackson, Mississippi.
