MARSHALL, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball team fell 81-33 to East Texas Baptist University Saturday afternoon in conference action.

Howard Payne struggled offensively connecting on only 13 of 55 shots (23.6%) taken and were outrebounded by East Texas Baptist 54-26 in the game.

Bria Neal led the Lady Jackets with 12 points. Elaina Buchanan and Amanda Turpin were HPU's top rebounders with four each. Turpin also finished with eight points.

ETBU was led by Jayde Goynes with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Howard Payne is now 3-10 overall and 1-6 in American Southwest Conference action. ETBU is now 9-2 overall and 5-1 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Jan. 2nd at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas at 3:00 pm.
