RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 94-49 to the University of Texas at Dallas Thursday evening in conference action.
Howard Payne struggled shooting in the game connecting on just 25.8% (17 of 66) of its shots from the field and shot 22.7% (5 of 22)Â from behind the arc.
The Yellow Jackets held an eight point lead (22-14) midway through the first period but the Comets would outscore HPU 26-2 to close out the first half.
Michael House scored a team high 16 points and 5 of 10 shooting from the field, 5 of 8 from the free-throw line.
Myles Brown added eight points and
Deven Bailey grabbed a team high seven rebounds.
UT Dallas was led by Donovan Souter with 22 points and Kameron Pruitt with 10 rebounds.
Howard Payne is now 2-5 overall and 1-2 in American Southwest Conference play. UTD stands at 5-1 overall and 2-0 in league action. The Jackets will play next on Saturday at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
