Brownwood, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's tennis team went 0-2 on Thursday with a 1-8 loss against University of the Southwest (N.M.) and 3-6 loss against LeTourneau University.
 
University of the Southwest Match
On Thursday, the Lady Jackets took on University of the Southwest falling 1-8.
 
In number one doubles, HPU's Lexie Nave and Zoe Sprayberry fell short 5-8 in an exciting match. Another close match was Blair Ballard and Katelynn Lovel in number three doubles, losing 4-8.
 
Lady Jacket Lexie Nave dominated in number one singles, winning 6-4, 1-6(10-8).
 
LeTourneau University Match
On Thursday, the Lady Jackets took on LeTourneau University falling 3-6.
 
Lexie Nave and Zoe Sprayberry won 8-4 in number one doubles. Katelynn Lovel and Brittany Sutton also won in number three doubles, defeating their opponents 8-6.
 
Lexie Nave won her number one singles match 2-6, 3-2 with her opponent retiring. Brittany Sutton had a close number five singles match, falling 4-6, 7-5(8-10). And in number four singles, Katelynn Lovel battled and lost 4-6, 5-7.
 
The Lady Jackets will play next on Friday, February 26^th at 12:00 pm in Brownwood, Texas versus East Texas Baptist University.
