BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne University softball team dropped the last game of the series versus McMurry University 7-1 on Friday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field.

The Lady Jackets got off to a rocky start, allowing the War Hawks to score six runs in the first inning.

Howard Payne got on the board in the fourth inning scoring on an Alexis Sullivan double that plated Kylie Persons. The Lady Jackets were unable to catch the War Hawks, dropping the game 7-1.

Kylie Persons, Alexis Sullivan, and Brianna Lopez had one hit each. 

Tia Campos (6-6) recorded the loss, pitching all seven innings and allowing seven runs on 13 hits.

Howard Payne drops to 12-10 on the season and 7-8 in conference play. McMurry Improves to 14-6 on the season and 10-5 in conference play. The Lady Jackets will travel to Belton, Texas, to play Mary Hardin-Baylor in a three-game series on April 9th and 10th.
