BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne University men's tennis team defeated Texas Luther University 8-1 Friday afternoon at the Early tennis courts.
In doubles action, Nicolas Gate and
Logan Knight teamed up to win 8-3 in number two doubles.
Christian Fernandez and
Landon Ferree also won 8-3 in number three doubles.
Hunter Green and
Micah Hunter lost a close 8-7 battle in number one doubles.
Micah Hunter came out on top in number one singles 7-5, 6-0.
Logan Knight won number two singles 6-3, 6-2.
Hunter Green took number three singles 6-0, 6-3.
Also winning their singles matchup was
Nicolas Gates,
Christian Fernandez, and
Ashton Stevens.
The Yellow Jackets will compete in the men's ITA regional on Sept. 23-26 in San Antonio, Texas.
